Miss Tourism Myanmar 2018 titleholder Silimee was confirmed as one of the casualties of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that hit Myanmar in late March.

According to the Miss Tourism Myanmar organization, her body was found by rescue teams within the rubble after the collapse of a 12-storey condominium complex in central Mandalay on April 2.

Silimee became Myanmar’s representative at the 2018 tilt of Miss Tourism World.

The earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28. It left multiple buildings destroyed in Mandalay, which is the second largest city in the country.

On Saturday, April 5, state media said it has so far recorded 3,354 deaths. Around 4,508 people were injured, while 220 others are still missing.

It's been a week after the strategy, and AFP reported that many are still without shelter, "either forced to sleep outdoors because their homes were destroyed or wary of further collapses."

Over three million individuals may have been affected by the disaster, per an estimate by the United Nations.
