BLACKPINK's Lisa sets 3 new Guinness World Records

BLACKPINK continues to take the world by storm, with Lisa alone setting three new Guinness World Records (GWR).

The award-giving body announced on Tuesday, Jan. 24, that Lisa has set three new records for her career as a solo artist in 2022.  

First one is for being "the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Video Music Awards," in addition to being "the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards."

She also landed at the top list in the category of Best K-pop video, which had been consistently won by BTS since 2019. 

Next is for her performance of the song Ready For Love in the video game PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) Mobile along with fellow BLACKPINK members. Their performance earned them "an award for Best Metaverse Performance" and the Guinness record for "being the first winners of the award."

GWR added that the Thai singer became the 38th most followed account on Instagram, with football player Cristiano Ronaldo at the top.
