S.Coups, whose real name is Choi Seung-cheol, sustained an injury on is left knee on Aug. 10 as "he was landing while playing a ball game for content filming," the agency wrote.

PLEDIS Entertainment went on to explain that the incident caused the 28-year-old singer's anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) to be damaged.

"He was immediately taken to the hospital where he underwent a comprehensive medical examination including an MRI scan," the agency continued. "During the examination, a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)  was identified in the left knee."

"The artist is receiving necessary medical treatment prior to the surgery as recommended by medical staff and will undergo surgery as soon as possible. We will provide updates on the progression of his treatment and rehabilitation schedule at a later time," the statement read.

While S.Coups is still recovering from his injury, PLEDIS Entertainment said that the artist "will be unable to participate in the majority of the scheduled activities for the time being."

The agency added that they will be adjusting his activities with "his recovery as the top priority as per recommendation of medical staff."

S.Coups likewise assured SEVENTEEN's fans, the CARATS, that he'll get better in time especially because he'll be putting his focus on his recovery from the surgery and rehabilitation afterwards.

“I’m worried that CARATs might be very surprised at hearing the news. I was having fun and getting immersed while filming so I was surprised at first when I suddenly got hurt, I was brought to the hospital and treated right away so don’t worry too much," the K-pop idol wrote in a message on the fan community platform WeVerse.

"I’m sad because there are a lot of big things planned, but I think the first thing is to recover as soon as possible to show carats a great stage so for now, I’ll focus on recovering and put my treatment and rehabilitation as top priority," the singer stressed.

"CARATs, don't worry too much," he continued. "I’ll have good surgery, eat well, and say hi from time to time while taking care of my condition."
