Restaurateur and cookbook author Myke Tatung Sarthou or Chef Tatung announced that he will be stepping back as the main host of his online cooking show Simpol to explore new projects.

In a lengthy statement published on Simpol's social media pages, Tatung said he is "filled with mixed emotions" about the decision but is also excited about the future.

"After an incredible journey as the main host of the Simpol channel, I’ve made the heartfelt decision to step back and open the door to new opportunities. It’s been an unforgettable experience sharing my passion for cooking, celebrating our rich culinary heritage, and connecting with all of you," he said.

However, the culinary artist said this "isn’t a farewell" and that it's "far from it."

"Simpol is embarking on an exciting new chapter, and I have no doubt it will continue to inspire and bring even more joy to your kitchens, and more importantly, to lives. As for me, I’m eager to explore new projects and share more of my personal culinary adventures with you through my personal accounts," Tatung shared.

He asked his fans to stay connected through his social media pages, "where I’ll be sharing recipes, stories, and the many things I’m passionate about."

"Let’s keep cooking, learning, and enjoying this journey together," he continued.

Chef Tatung then thanked his fans and followers for their love and support.

"Simpol will always hold a special place in my life, and I can’t wait to see it thrive in this next chapter — just as I’ll be cheering you on in yours. See you soon — on my pages and maybe even in your kitchens!" he added.

In the comments section, many of his fans took the time to send him well wishes for his plans.

"Thank you, Chef! You will always be my inspiration because of the complicated recipes made simple by your creative and inventive hands. Will follow and find you wherever you are," one user wrote.

Another commented, "God bless you on this new venture you are embarking on! Have always enjoyed and learned from your cooking shows."

Apart from being a TV and social media personality, Tatung also busies himself with his numerous restaurants such as Lore, Pandan Asian Café, Tatung's Private Dining, and Azadore.

He has also authored his own cookbook titled Simpol, which compiles his "simplest but most delicious recipes, mostly inspired from Filipino classics and global favorites."
