Song Kang, a.k.a. the “son of Netflix,” is the newest face of Penshoppe.
The local clothing brand officially announced that the K-drama heartthrob is joining the Penshoppe family as the newest endorser of its “Retro Pop collection” on Friday, Feb. 18. He is the next hallyu star after Lisa of Blackpink, Cha Eun Woo, Nam Joo Hyuk, Ji Soo, among others, to join Penshoppe.
Song Kang looked dashing as he showed off the brand’s collection which was described as “a line of retro-themed classic pieces perfect for the everyday summer living lifestyle.”
“It’s the butterfly effect. Say hi to TEAM PENSHOPPE’S newest endorser, Song Kang! Catch @songkang_b along with retro feels and minty-fresh drops from our latest RETRO POP collection,” Penshoppe wrote on Instagram.
The Penshoppe Group’s vice president for brand management Jeff Bascon said the actor’s “charismatic energy complements” the brand’s personality.
“Song Kang is a great addition to Team Penshoppe, and we are excited for fans to see more of him through our campaigns in the coming days,” Bascon added.
Meanwhile, the K-drama heartthrob said working with the brand has been “a unique and enjoyable experience.” “I was able to try on various styles that I like and introduce them to my Filipino fans.”
Song Kang shared that he’s “looking forward” to know more about the “culture and style that’s different” from Korean fashion brands.
“I’m so grateful for all the love and support that my work has received all the way from the Philippines. Your supportive messages mean so much to me. Please look forward to my future work, including my new role as Penshoppe’s endorser! I hope everyone stays healthy and happy this year,” he added.
Song Kang has been gaining recognition among domestic and international fans as an actor. His notable works include Love Alarm, Sweet Home, Nevertheless, and Forecasting Love and Weather.
