Influencer Guava Beauty, known for eating makeup and skincare products, dies at 24

Influencer Guava Beauty, who became famous for eating cosmetics in her videos, has died. She was 24.

The passing of the content creator, whose real name is Guava Shuishui, was announced on her Instagram page, revealing her battle with "sudden ailments."

Guava "endured every difficult moment, just like she has always been—hard-working, serious, and shining," an English translation of the post read.

"Thank you to everyone who has liked, commented, and laughed with her, and thank you for your love and support. She really keeps it in her heart and cherishes it very much," it added.

"Please remember Shuishui with a warm heart," the caption read.

The cause of her death was not specified.

Guava ate beauty products like serums, blush, lip gloss, and lipsticks and reviewed them on camera. Her IG page has more than 12,000 followers.

Her friend, in an Instagram post, said that her medical team "clearly ruled out any possibility related to the so-called 'food cosmetics'" when the influencer was confined in the hospital.

She also noted that Guava was a responsible content creator who repeatedly stressed to her viewers that eating cosmetic products can be dangerous to one's health as they contain chemicals.

"In response to the ongoing personal attacks, lies, and even malicious mockery, I want to be serious: These comments have caused tremendous emotional stress and harm to her family and our close friends. Family and friends have suffered more pain and shock than imagined during this time, and we ask everyone to stop all malicious speculation and stigma," she added.
