BTS' J-Hope to release solo single ahead of military enlistment
BTS' main dancer J-Hope announced on Feb. 27 that he will release his solo single On The Street on March 3, ahead of his military enlistment.
On The Street is a low-fi hip-hop track that "harmonizes easy-to-listen melodies with warm lyrics." The multitalented K-pop idol participated in the lyrics and song production for his temporary farewell single.
J-Hope, also known affectionately as Hobi, chose the single's title as the motif since streets host various situations such as encounters and dreams, as well as, of course, the venue "where memories unfold."
On The Street thus "contains the complex meaning of an artist's dream that started on the street and the road J-Hope will continue to walk with fans around the world."
The music video for the said song will come out the same day.
On Sunday, Feb. 26, BigHit Music announced that J-Hope has already initiated the process for his mandatory military enlistment. "We ask you for your continued love and support for J-Hope until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist," the agency said.
Jin was the first BTS member to fulfill his military enlistment requirement.
