"Na-miss ko kayo. Mahal kita."

Those were the words that South Korean actor Lee Je-hoon said to his Filipinos fans during a press conference ahead of his much-awaited fan meet event on March 3.

Because of his performances in dramas like Signal, Secret Door, Where Stars Land, Taxi Driver, Je-hoon quickly pierced through the hearts of viewers and became a cherished actor among Filipino K-drama fans.

During the conference, which was arranged by Live Nation, it seems like the Philippines already holds a special place in the 38-year-old award-winning actor's heart as he has already visited the country prior to his fan meet.

"I have been to Palawan just for a charity activity, for the victims of a typhoon disaster, and I was a part of the charity [organization] there," Je-hoon shared through his translator.

As his fan meet event is titled "Vacation," many were naturally curious as to what he considers as the perfect holiday scenario. According to him, it would be letting himself free after all his hard work, having some time to reflect and look back at his actions, and reminding himself what he wants to do in the future.

Of course, indulging in delicious food is also part of the itinerary. And now that he is here in the Philippines, Je-hoon shared that he wants to feast on some of our local cuisines.

"I wanted to try two dishes: adobo and sinigang," he said. "I flew [via] Philippine Airlines and the food that they served, I think it was adobo because it was kind of like galbi jjim in Korea, which is like the Korean version of adobo. And it was so delicious that I had finished it all."

As for the tourist spots that he wants to visit, Je-hoon revealed that he plans to go to Manila Bay as well as check out some attractions in Palawan, El Nido, and Siargao.

"I found that the beaches of the Philippines are really beautiful, and I want to go there. I want to walk on the beaches and eat great food, enjoy the landscapes of the Philippines, and have fun with the staff," he said.

When it comes to his work as an actor, especially now that he received rave reviews for his performance in Move to Heaven and Taxi Driver, Je-hoon was asked whether he is put under pressure for his future projects. But rather than feeling tense, he is actually thankful for all the love that he got.

"It's time for me to move forward more and do my best for the next projects," he highlighted. "I want to show myself in other good projects, so please give me more love and support."

He also shared that he is willing to join Filipino-made shows if the opportunity comes to him and if he thinks that they are good, "That's my hope and dream."

The Korean actor's fan meet will take place at the New Frontier Theater at 8:00 pm. He said that he plans to approach his fans randomly, and hopes that they won’t be surprised.
