Korean rapper Ch1tkey reveals that he is alive after faking his death.

Several entertainment news sites reported the 21-year-old artist's death as one of his acquaintances said he slipped and fell off a roof while doing a challenge. His girlfriend also posted a tribute on social media.

"I think everyone's shocked. To explain, Ch1tkey and I have always liked challenges. This time we were trying to do a prank on a roof. One of us promised our viewers that if we gained a certain amount of followers on Instagram, Ch1tkey would jump off a roof. When the follower count hit the amount, Ch1tkey and another acquaintance stood on the edge of the roof," the acquaintance said, as per Allkpop.

"Ch1tkey was supposed to pretend to fall and then end the stream by giving a random viewer a gift, but he slipped and fell," they added.

The individual also claimed that the rapper was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, Ch1tkey's girlfriend wrote a lengthy message which read: "My dear Junyuk, you went through so much hardship during that time. Let's meet often in our dreams. I am very thankful that I was your first love. I am so lucky that you were my first love. Today marks 297, almost 300 days."

"Even though I am overwhelmed with emotions and tears, I still can't calm down. I've cried so much that my head hurts, but I believe you went to a better place," she reportedly said.

As sites picked up news of his death, Ch1tkey bared that he was alive by posting "Hello," and sharing his new track Back, according to Allkpop.

The post appears to not be shared on Instagram as he only has one post on the platform which was made at around 7 p.m. on Aug. 1 Philippine time.

The rapper later took to social platform Triller to address his fans after the hoax.

"I'm not just seeking attention. I've tried to make a comeback with my album, but I ended up being so smart that I deceived even my family. So the police and reporters came to my house, and news reports came out," he said, according to Sportskeeda.
