Shannen Doherty finalized her divorce with her former husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, just a day before she passed away.

PEOPLE Magazine reported that the actress signed a filing to waive spousal support and agreed to their marriage's "default or uncontested dissolution," which means they mutually completed their divorce proceedings outside of court, on July 12.

Documents obtained by the media outlet showed Doherty and Iswarienko entered into a written agreement regarding their property and marriage rights, including support.

Iswarienko signed the document on July 13, the same day Doherty was no more at 53.

Her publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed her death to PEOPLE the following day.

Less than a year before her passing, Doherty opened up about her battle with cancer and said it had spread to her brain and then her bones.

According to E! News, Doherty struggled with breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission two years later. She revealed it unfortunately came back in early 2020.

Doherty entered the entertainment scene in 1982 via shows such as Father Murphy, Voyagers!, and Little House on the Prairie. She had a co-starring role in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun in 1985. The 1988 movie Heathers marked her first big role on the screen. It was followed by other hit projects such as Beverly Hills, 90210, and Charmed, among many others.

Doherty and Iswarienko got married in October 2011. They don't have children together. She filed for divorce in April 2023.

Iswarienko had camera work for Clockstoppers, Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Shogun. He also photographed stars like Rosamund Pike, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Pink, and Chris Pine.
