Regine Velasquez shuts down divorce rumors with Ogie Alcasid
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez dismissed the circulating rumors about her split with Ogie Alcasid.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, Ogie performed a production number for his early birthday celebration on It’s Showtime where he was later joined by Regine on stage to share a sweet speech about his career and professional endeavors.
The sweet moment later shifted into a comedic outburst when she called out gossipers.
“By the way, gusto ko lang semplakin ‘yung nagsasabi na naghiwalay kami [ni Ogie.] Bwiset e, ‘di ba?”
“Marriage is already difficult the way it is… pero ‘yung may mga tao pang who’s trying to make it even more difficult for us, hindi po iyon maganda,” Regine said. “Parang ipinapanalangin niyo na maghiwalay kami.”
She also clarified that while their marriage is “not perfect,” Ogie is a good husband and father to her and their children.
“Hindi po kami maghihiwalay ever because we love each other,” the singer added.
Regine further advised the viewers to not easily believe in write-ups and also explained that fans can subscribe to their social media accounts.
Turning 56 on Aug. 27, Ogie performed three of his timeless hits Nandito Ako, Kung Mawawala Ka, and Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang on the noontime show. He was also joined onstage by their son Nate Alcasid who wished him a happy birthday.
