Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee may not have won the crown, but she won the heart of Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild as they became BFFs during the competition. Before leaving El Salvador, they first had a wholesome selfie together.

On X, Michelle shared a monochrome 0.5 selfie with Anntonia as they gave each other a half-hug with their eyes closed while in bed.

The Pinay beauty queen also saved her Instagram Story that shows Anntonia posing by the door of what appears to be a hotel room. Michelle mentioned Anntonia's Instagram handle and told her, “Ciao” and “See you soooon!!” There’s also the hashtag #pordee, which signifies their tandem.

“It’s not goodbye, just see you later!” Michelle wrote in her tweet, adding, “(ps: i woke up & won the bet).”

The tweet got over 82,000 reactions, 17,000 retweets and quotes, and 700 comments.

Michelle also followed up with another hashtag, #pordeeuniverse.

The pair has since shown great chemistry. In an appearance on Instagram Live last Nov. 22, Michelle and Anntonia answered questions from fans as they cleaned their faces in front of a mirror.

Michelle was asked if Anntonia would visit the Philippines soon, and she said an invitation had been sent. Michelle recommended trying out Palawan for its “most pristine beaches, amazing biodiversity,” and since it’s great for scuba diving and has free diving and snorkeling, but Porsild said she didn’t like scuba diving due to her fear of big fishes.

Anntonia also gave Michelle a piece of jewelry as a parting gift.

Michelle finished her Miss Universe journey in the Top 10. Dee also won the “Spirit of Carnival” award and was among the Gold winners of the "Voice of Change" special awards.

Anntonia, meanwhile, emerged as first runner-up.

Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua was hailed Miss Universe 2023, succeeding the Filipino-blooded R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States.
