K-pop group KARD to disband after almost a decade
K-pop co-ed group KARD is disbanding.
The group's agency, DSP Media, announced the news while expressing deep gratitude to fans for their unwavering support over the years.
Before officially parting ways, KARD will release their upcoming album, Where To Now? (Part.2) : NOWHERE, on July 28, which will be accompanied by a final world tour.
"After careful and thoughtful discussions with all four members, we have mutually agreed that this album and tour will mark the conclusion of KARD’s journey as a group," DSP Media stated. "We would like to once again express our heartfelt gratitude to HIDDEN KARD [the group's fandom] for standing by KARD every step of the way."
The agency concluded by asking fans to support the members—BM, J.Seph, Somin, and Jiwoo—in their future solo endeavors.
"We also hope you will continue to support and encourage each member as they begin the next chapter of their individual journeys," the statement read. "The members have poured their hearts into preparing this album and tour, and we sincerely hope these final activities will become cherished memories for HIDDEN KARD. We kindly ask for your continued love and support until the very end as KARD shares one final chapter with you in the way only they can."
KARD officially debuted in 2017, with the release of their EP Hola Hola, following a highly successful pre-debut project featuring hits like Oh NaNa and Don't Recall. As one of the few successful mix-gendered groups in Korea, KARD consistently proved their global charting power—frequently entering Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales with fan-favorite songs like Bomb Bomb, Dumb Litty, and ICKY.
In 2023, the group went to the Philippines to perform and receive their award at the Asia Artist Awards 2023 in Bulacan.
