Issa Pressman was with rumored boyfriend James Reid for the joint celebration of his mother and grandmother's birthdays.
James' official fan page REIDers, via his mother Ella MacDonald, shared photos and videos of the celebration on Instagram. The rumored celebrity couple can be seen hanging out with his relatives as they enjoy Pinoy handaan.
"Thank you my Star and my Moon," Ella wrote about James and younger sister Chantal in an Instagram Reel. "Thank you Issa."
"A very special birthday surprise for me and my Nanay. You made your Lola and me happy."
In another post reposted by REIDers, Ella also thanked her children for making time to attend the celebration despite their busy schedules. She also gave Issa another shoutout for the gifts.
"It was a very Happy Birthday to me and my Nanay to celebrate it with my whole family!!" she said.
James and Issa sparked dating rumors last March, when they shared photos of each other during Harry Styles' Love on Tour concert in Manila. The photos included a mirror selfie as they held each other's hands.
But their "soft launch" got mixed reactions, as Issa had been accused of being a third party during James's relationship with Nadine Lustre. James and Nadine announced their breakup in January 2020, though said it actually happened in November 2019.
Days later, James took to Twitter and Instagram Story to address criticisms against Issa, saying past rumors about them "are just that, rumors."
Without explicitly confirming nor denying their relationship, James said he felt the need to speak up "now" because "this is the start of something beautiful,” which he said he won't let anyone take away from him.
“All you need to know from me," he said, "is that [I’m] the happiest I’ve ever been," he said.
