Machine Gun Kelly shared why he decided to get a giant blackout tattoo on his upper body that was completed with 44 needles as he opened up about the story behind it.

In his recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the rapper (whose real name is Colson Baker) talked about what inspired his massive ink, which he also described as the "worst torture" he has ever faced.

"I've realized through research that this is from someone who has extremely high anxiety. But in my head, it really interested me in redesigning the anatomy," he said.

"You know the skin is the largest organ that we have. I’ve already had all tattoos since I was 13, my whole body has been covered for a long time, and I just wanted to redesign what the human skin could look like, so I came up with, well, I didn’t, but a friend of mine named Roxx came up with this," he continued.

MGK admitted that getting it was the "worst torture" ever.

"I don’t do, like, the going under and numbing and waking up, I don’t do any of that," he said. "I had to thug it out, big mistake, but my morals stand."

The singer first posted photos showing his new ink in February 2024, saying it "was for spiritual purposes only."

Apart from his music, MGK has also been known for his heavily tattooed body. One of his memorable inks was a matching tattoo with Travis Barker that read “Born with Horns.” They got it in August 2021 when they worked on an album together.
