Sydney Sweeney says she has 'never tried coffee'—here's why

Wait, what? Sydney Sweeney just made a revelation connected to coffee, a crowd favorite drink: She has never tried it before.

The actress openly talked about her preferences when it comes to food and drinks in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal.

"I've never tried coffee before. I just drink water," she told the media outlet.

Sydney later revealed that she's able to function on only two hours of sleep. "I sleep however many hours I get in a night, but I'm known for being able to function off of very, very little for a very long amount of time."

Her mornings usually start at 7:30 a.m. "I usually wake up around 7:30 a.m. First, I hug my dog, Tank, and we cuddle. Then I'll go and wash my face, brush my teeth, and get ready to jump-start the day."

The international star said she enjoys having a berry bowl for breakfast, though she changes it up a bit sometimes by having some granola, bacon, or croissant. "But I always go to berries," she said.

In a June 2023 interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Sydney said she liked having mixed beverages and soft drinks when she was younger. "When I was little I loved Shirley Temples, and I loved Sprite and my parents kept being like, ‘It's all you drink, it's all you drink. You need to drink water,'" she recalled. "And I think that they made a comment, they were like, ‘You couldn't drink water for a week.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I can. Watch me.’ And then I kept doing it."

At the time, she told the media outlet that since she's into sweets, she has to keep herself hydrated at all times for balance. "That's kind of been my justification for eating desserts and candy. It's like I have a healthy balance there," she said. "And it's so good because then I started getting older, and I realized drinking water is great for your skin, and it's great for you as a person and your body and it's healthy. So it was a good thing my younger self started. I thank young Syd on the daily."
