Former beauty queen Janine Tugonon announces pregnancy

Janine Tugonon is going to be a mother!

The Miss Universe Philippines 2012 1st runner-up shared a carousel post of her showing off her baby bump and a pregnancy health record.

“Exciting times, new goals set and new season in life ahead,” Janine wrote.

Janine's fellow beauty queens showered her with well wishes on her pregnancy announcement.

“Yayyy congratulations momma,” Ara Arida wrote.

Gazini Ganados also wrote, saying: “Amazing!!! Excited for this new chapter of yours!! Congratulations Janine.”

Pia Wurtzbach, Lara Quigaman, Alaiza Malinao, Rabiya Mateo, Shamcey Supsup, and Aya Abesamis also left congratulatory messages for the beauty queen.

After an impressive second-place finish at the 61st Miss Universe in 2012, Janine set her sights on modeling. Her talent led her to the US, where she made history as the first Filipina model to be featured in a Victoria's Secret campaign.

Talking about her move to the US at that time, Janine told Elle that she "risked" it all just so she could move to the US.

"I really risked it. For me, it's really uncertain going into modeling and blending into this culture where there are a lot of models that are blondes with blue eyes. It's tough, but I'm like, Let's do that route, because that's what I wanted. Let's just take the risk, let's do it," she said.
