Taylor Swift’s alleged stalker at NYC home arrested

Taylor’ Swift’s alleged stalker was arrested on July 1 after showing up at the singer's home in New York. Fortunately, Swift was not home.

According to news reports from Billboard, the Brooklyn man Joshua Christian, 35, was charged with stalking and criminal trespass on July 1, Friday, after being seen in American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s residences in Franklin street in Tribeca, New York.

A prosecutor arraigned Christian last June 2 in the Manhattan criminal court and told New York Post that Christian was also seen in Swift’s other properties.

“The defendant has not only repeatedly shown up to Ms. Swift’s home here in New York but has traveled to her home in Tennessee as well,” he said.

Christian was wearing a white shirt, white pants, and black shoes and yelled that he was a “Christian scientist” during the proceeding.

“I am a Christian scientist. I don’t desire this individual to represent me. This is the worst miscarriage of justice since the crucification of Christ Jesus. I am representing myself,” he ranted. His lawyer then asked for a psychiatric evaluation.

The incident is not the first time Swift has had to endure threats from stalkers, which has seen the star double her security details over the years.

The prosecutor noted that there are ongoing investigations on Christian’s additional stalking incidents.

Nursing student Andrea Means told the New York Post last July 3 that she and her 2-year-old daughter were “creeped out” by Christian.

“He would see my daughter and say, ‘Oh, she is so beautiful,’” she said and added that Christian was “a little off.”

Manhattan Judge Eric Schumacher ordered Christian to stay away from the popstar and was set bail in the case at $1. The alleged stalker was also sent to jail without bail and will return to court on July 28 for misdemeanor after fleeing his reckless driving charge in Florida.
