EJAE, the singer-songwriter behind the music of the hit Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters, has officially tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, producer Samuel Kim, in an intimate wedding ceremony in Seoul, South Korea, on Oct. 17.

The ceremony took place at Stage 28 in Godok-dong, Gangdong-gu—a location deeply meaningful to the singer, as the venue was built on the former estate of her maternal grandfather, veteran actor Shin Young-kyun. In fact, her brother also held his wedding there.

“When I was young, my grandfather and grandmother lived in the house there. I spent a lot of time wandering around the garden and walking with my grandfather on the hill behind the house,” EJAE told Vogue.

Originally planned for November in California, the couple decided to move the date up by a month and marry in their home country to honor their heritage.

“It was hectic and a little stressful, but it was real teamwork, and everything has fallen into place perfectly,” she said.

The singing voice of Jinu and their close friend, Andrew Choi, officiated the ceremony.

Moreover, the singing voices behind Huntrix members Rei Ami (Zoey) and Audrey Nuna (Mira) were also in attendance.

EJAE, a former trainee at SM Entertainment, spent years as a songwriter for major K-pop groups like Twice, Red Velvet, and Aespa.

She gained fame as the singing voice behind Rumi, the main character of the KPop Demon Hunters and went on to win an Academy Award and a Grammy Award for her work on Golden.

EJAE and Kim first met when a mutual friend set them up for a songwriting session. They began dating in 2017 and got engaged in 2025.
