BINI wins at 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, hopes 'world can discover more of Filipino music'
There's no stopping BINI from achieving milestones in their career.
BINI on Monday (Philippine time) won the "Best Asia Act" award in the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA), beating South Korea's ILLIT, Indonesia's Mahalini, Malaysia's MASDO, and Japan's Sakurazaka46.
This latest recognition comes just days before BINI's highly anticipated three-day "Grand BINIverse" concert at the Araneta Coliseum.
"We're so thankful for winning the Best Asia Act in this year's MTV Europe Music Awards," BINI Jhoanna said in a video posted on MTV Asia's X.
"We hope we can keep sharing our music with you and that the world can discover more of Filipino music," BINI Mikha added.
In a post on X, BINI said the award "means the world to us, seeing Filipino music shine on the global stage."
BINI's three-day concert happening on Nov. 16 to 18 at the Araneta Coliseum is expecting a star-studded lineup of guest performers.
“Asia’s Songbird” Regine Velasquez will perform at the nation's girl group's shows on Nov. 16 and 17, while “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano, Maymay Entrata, and Vice Ganda are set to grace their Nov. 17 and 18 concerts.
Prior to this, they held their first solo concert, a three-night event at the New Frontier Theater in June, titled "BINIverse." In July, they made history as the first Filipino act to perform at KCON LA.
This year's MTV EMAs marked the first since 2022, as last year's event near Paris was canceled due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
