The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival has officially started, and several celebrities from around the globe have graced the occasion with their presence.

This year's festival, which runs from Tuesday, May 14 to Saturday, May 25, features 10 films vying for the coveted Palme d'Or award.

While no Filipino film made it to the list, local cinema was still recognized. The classic 1980 film Bona, directed by the legendary Lino Brocka and starring Nora Aunor and Philip Salvador, made a triumphant return after 43 years as an official Cannes Classics selection.

But it wasn't just the films getting attention. Filipino celebrities brought their fashion A-game, making a statement on and off the red carpet. Check out who made it to this year's Cannes.

Kylie Verzosa

Beauty queen-turned-actress Kylie Verzosa attended the prestigious film gathering for the second time for the premiere of Kinds of Kindness with Marli New York.

On Instagram, the former Miss International 2016 shared her stunning look on the red carpet. She wore a flamboyant yellow-black gown featuring a velvet corset and an exclusive flowery print created by Sophie Couture.

"Walking the final carpet at the premier[e] of Kinds of Kindness with Marli New York @marli," the caption read.

Likewise, Kylie also strutted the red carpet for the festival's Furiosa Premier wearing a dreamy mauve color Mark Bumgarner rosette ball gown, accessorized with Messika diamonds.

Shaina Magdayao, Sylvia Sanchez, Ruby Ruiz

Shaina Magdayao looks vibrantly beautiful with her modern take on Filipiniana terno made by local designer Russel May Cordero.

She attended the event for the Cannes Director's Fortnight, representing the Philippine film industry through the premiere of their short film Walay Balay with Hollywood breakout star Ruby Ruiz, Sylvia Sanchez, and Lorna Tolentino, among others.

"Walay Balay Premiere with our young, talented filmmakers and our epic producers. An honor to represent our film, culture and country," the caption read.

Xian Lim

Filipino actor Xian Lim also attended the prestigious film event. He posted captionless photos on his IG account, including one of him in front of a yacht and another inside a theater.
