Hailey Bieber rebukes 'made-up' narratives with Selena Gomez

Hailey Bieber has once again opened up about being pitted with Selena Gomez, saying that these “completely made-up and twisted and perpetuated narratives” cause horrible and distasteful hate which is “really dangerous.”

Hailey appeared on Bloomberg's series The Circuit With Emily Chang and addressed the circulating dispute rumors with Selena when brought up by the host.

“I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez, this is not about this pitting between two women and division between two women. It’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted and perpetuated narratives,” she said. “That can be really dangerous,” Hailey added.

Bringing into the picture what is happening, Hailey sees this as an opportunity to stand and bring people together as she is not okay with the kind of division it brings to them. “I'm not OK with the kind of division that it caused. I don't like this whole idea of team this person and team that person—I'm just not about that," she said.

“I want to be able to bring people together. I think that was a really important moment for people to see that you can do that you can do that. And you can bring people together and it doesn't have to be about this divisive nature,” she also added.

In March, Selena posted a message on her Instagram Story, telling her followers to stop the death threats given to Hailey as the former reached out to her due to this incident. “This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop," Selena said.

And here comes an old narrative issue between two women—“Because of a guy? It’s awful. I hate it.” Hailey said.

“I've hated it since the beginning… I don't know why I keep having to say, and we keep having to say, that there is no issue and there is no problem. It's so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man. It's the world we live in, unfortunately,” she continued.

Hailey and Selena have been pitted by netizens as both celebrities have a romantic link with Canadian singer Justin Bieber. Justin and Selena started to date in February 2011. Since then, they had an on-off relationship, but both parties ended their relationship for good in March 2018. Meanwhile, Justin and Hailey got married on September of that year and tied the knot for the second time in September 2019 in South Carolina.
