Jayvee Lyn Lorejo named Miss Global Philippines 2026 following Valerie West's resignation
Davao's Jayvee Lyn Lorejo is the new Miss Global Philippines 2026, replacing former titleholder Valerie Pawid West.
Lorejo, a former Miss Tourism International Philippines titleholder, received her crown at a ceremony held at Seda Vertis North in Quezon City on the afternoon of June 20, days after West officially relinquished her title. West previously represented Ifugao Province in the 2026 Miss World Philippines pageant.
“I did not expect to be representing the Philippines on an international stage. I’ll simply show my true self to the world. Pageantry has taught me to be prepared because opportunity comes unexpectedly,” Lorejo said, following her crowning ceremony.
“As a simple girl from Davao, I am carrying the story of my family and my late grandmother, who shared this dream with me. I am very real and don’t pretend to be someone I am not. And I love to travel around the world, as well as travel domestically,” the flight attendant continued.
Present at the ceremony were TPN Global CEO Piyaporn "Rui" Sankosik, Miss Global International 2025 Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van, and Mutya ng Pilipinas Global 2025 Xena Ramos.
“I’m equally happy to be here in Manila to crown the new Miss Global Philippines and reunite with Xena, who was my roommate during the international finals last year. To you, Jayvee, your journey starts today, and it will be filled with opportunities. This pageant is not just about beauty, but more so with purpose for positive change in the world,” Nguyen said during the ceremony.
Lorejo will be flying to Bangkok on Sept. 26 for the registration and sashing of Miss Global 2026. The competition will run from Sept. 28 to Oct. 10.
According to ALV Pageant Circle, the official Philippine partner of Miss Global Organization, West voluntarily resigned after being informed of contractual and organizational issues that arose following an internal compliance review.
"Ms. West was informed of the resulting adjustment to her status as a crowned queen. Instead of proceeding under the revised organizational arrangement, she chose to voluntarily tender her resignation," ALV Pageant Circle wrote in a statement released on June 18.
The organization did not reveal a specific reason for the development, and clarified that its statement was purely informational and not a personal attack on West, her local director, or anyone else.
