Janella Salvador speaks out on rumors she was a third party in Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf's past relationship
Janella Salvador has broken her silence on rumors that she was involved in the breakup of Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf.
"Para lang maging klaro, sabi ko kasi magsasalita ko at the right time, ito na 'yun. Hindi po ako part nung breakup, hindi po ako third party. I'd like to exclude myself from that," she told the media during a Cinemalaya event on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Klea had earlier dismissed speculations about Janella's involvement in the breakup.
"[Ako] na nagsasabi mismo sa inyo na walang third party na nangyari," the actress told the media during GMA Gala 2025.
“Yung closeness namin ni Janella inevitable siya kasi magkasama kami sa film," she said, pertaining to the upcoming Cinemalaya sapphic film Open Endings, which also stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Leanne Mamonong. "So, kaming apat sa film, si Jasmine, si Leanne, si Janella and me, 'yung closeness namin talagang nadevelop during shooting days namin."
Janella also hinted at the real score between her and Klea.
"Nakikita n'yo naman kung gaano ako kasaya. Hindi ito 'yung tamang venue to talk about personal matters pero kung ano 'yung nakikita n'yo, 'yun na 'yun," she said.
"Kung ano 'yung nakikita n'yo online or kahit saan, 'yun na 'yun, basta masaya kami together," Klea added.
Klea-Katrice split
Klea confirmed her split from Katrice in July.
In an interview with Fast Talk With Boy Abunda in July, she revealed that it was a mutual decision.
"Mutual decision 'yung nangyari," she said. "Umabot na kami sa point na gusto niya unahin 'yung sarili niya. Gusto ko rin naman unahin 'yung sarili ko this time."
Klea said that they both realized that they were no longer helping each other grow. "Na-realize na rin namin na hindi na kami nakakatulong sa isa't isa. Parang pinupull down na lang namin 'yung isa't isa."
She also denied at the time that cheating was the reason behind their breakup. "Hindi ko kayang gawin 'yun [cheating] kay Kat kasi masyado kong mahal si Kat, ayoko makita siyang nasasaktan pa. Andami na ring napagdaanan ni Katrice and ayokong makadagdag pa dun, so no."
"Vinavalue ko 'yung loyalty, 'yung love namin, 'yung respeto ko sa kaniya and 'di ko ever balak sirain 'yun or hindi ko ever inisip na makasira ng tao dahil sa ganiyang maling ginagawa na cheating," Klea said, adding that Katrice will never do that to anyone as well.
