Sophie Turner on split with Joe Jonas: 'Those were the worst few days of my life'

Sophie Turner has broken her silence about her breakup with Joe Jonas, saying it turned out to be the "worst" few days of her life.

The actress recalled what it was like being the subject of negative headlines following their split in an interview with British Vogue. "Those were the worst few days of my life," she said. "I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn't leave. My kids were in the States, and I couldn't get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out."

"It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother. Mom guilt is so real!" she continued, noting that she had to reminded herself repeatedly that none of it was true and that she's a "good mom."

According to the Game of Thrones star, entertainment outlets referred to her as an "irresponsible" mother of two young daughters as they painted her as a "party girl" following the release of some of her photos taken during the wrap party of her TV series Joan.

"I mean, it's unfathomable the amount of people that will just make s—t up and put it up based on a picture. A picture might tell a thousand words, but it's not my story," she stressed. "It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn't written, hadn't produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I'm still in shock."

Sophie said that she turned to her co-stars in Joan as well as its crew for "emotional support."

"There’s something about a community and a support system that I’ve never realised is so important up until now. And I think the reason I was on medication for so long is because I didn’t have those people with me," she said. According to PEOPLE Magazine, the international star previously opened up about relying on medication and therapy for her mental health problems.

Sophie said she's now the "happiest [she's] been in a really long time." She added, "I’m starting over again, rediscovering what I like to do, who I like to be with."

Sophia and Joe announced in a joint statement that they have "mutually decided to amicably end" their marriage "after four wonderful years" in September 2023.

The former couple got engaged in 2017 after being together for a year. They had two wedding ceremonies in 2019—one in Las Vegas in May and another wedding in France in June.

Sophie is now being linked to British aristocrat Peregrine "Perry" Pearson, with whom she's been spotted holding hands and sharing a kiss last year. Joe, meanwhile, sparked dating rumors with model Stormi Bree early this year after being seen boarding a private jet together.
