It's official: Janella Salvador, Win Metawin to star together in upcoming film 'Under Parallel Skies'
Filipino actress Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin have confirmed that they are set to share the screen together for an upcoming film.
In an announcement video, Janella and Win stood side by side as they gave some details about their joint project.
"We are so excited to announce to you guys that we will be teaming up for the upcoming movie Under Parallel Skies," Win said.
"To be directed by Sigrid Bernardo. We are very, very excited to share this with you very soon," Janella added.
The video ended with the two lead stars adorably saying "abangan" and "coming soon" in Thai language. Aside from this, photos were also shared showing the two actors dressed as their characters.
Shot in Hong Kong, Under Parallel Skies takes audiences into the shoes of a man who is struggling with a painful past. As he tries to move forward with his life, he later discovers that the woman he knows is connected to that past.
The film will be produced by 28 Squared Studios, a content production and film company that is headquartered in Manila and with footprints in Hong Kong.
The film's director, Sigrid, is best known for directing the 2017 romantic comedy flick Kita Kita starring Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez, which became the highest-grossing Philippine independent film.
Janella, who started her acting career in the 2012 drama series Be Careful With My Heart, recently finished a successful project in the superhero show Mars Ravelo's Darna. Win meanwhile rose to fame for his leading role in 2gether: The Series, which brought him to international prominence.
Rumors about their collaboration started in June when Win revealed in an interview that he would be working on a new project with a non-Thai celebrity. Netizens speculated it to be Janella after they were photographed together while performing a ceremony for good luck, typically done before taping begins.
