Evan Rachel Wood claims ex Marilyn Manson asked her to make dinner right after abortion: 'He didn't care'

More and more clips have been making the rounds online surrounding Evan Rachel Wood’s revelations about her abusive relationship with her ex Marilyn Manson (real name: Brian Warner).
In the HBO documentary Phoenix Rising, the actress detailed her pregnancy with the singer in 2011, which she eventually decided to terminate. “From the beginning of our relationship, he always had an issue with whatever birth control I was using, and I went through, like, every type to see which one he liked, and he didn’t like any of them, so essentially, he didn’t want me using birth control,” she said, alleging that she got pregnant after Manson refused to wear a condom during an intimate moment.
The abuse only went on and on—even right after her abortion. “He flew out for the abortion. The second it was over, it was like, ‘Make me dinner.’ And I remember being like, ‘I’m supposed to be resting. My body has gone through this trauma. There’s aftermath here.’ And he didn’t care.”
Carrying pent-up anger and frustration, she reached the point where she tried to end it all, including her own life. “I went into the bathroom and I took a glass and I shattered it on the floor and just started digging at my wrists as hard as I could,” she shared.
Her failed suicide attempt changed her life. “When I woke up, I felt different. I feel like whoever I was went to sleep and didn’t wake up that night, and this new version woke up and had to start rebuilding her life. I called my mom and I said, ‘I just tried to kill myself, and I need to go to a hospital, like, immediately.”
Phoenix Rising—a two-part documentary produced and directed by Amy Berg—follows Wood “as she takes her experience as a survivor of domestic violence to pursue justice, heal generational wounds, and reclaim her story.” Its second half is set to air on Mar. 15.
Wood started talking about her experiences with her alleged abuser in February last year, saying that he “horrifically abused me for years.” Manson, through his lawyers, has “vehemently denied any and all claims of sexual assault or abuse of anyone,” according to Daily Mail.
