From Superman to Superdad!

Henry Cavill has announced that he is expecting his first child soon with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso. The good news came after he was interviewed by Access Hollywood during the premiere of his upcoming spy comedy film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

"I'm very excited about it. Natalie and I are both very excited about it. I'm sure you'll see much more of that," Cavill said as he was asked if his parents inspired him to take on fatherhood.

Cavill previously touched upon his desire for parenthood when he spoke with Men's Health U.K. in 2017.

"If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them," he said. "And if I do have kids, even now, it’s starting to get quite late. But I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling around like, 'OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.' Yeah, I’m going to take care of my body—look good, but not smash it."

Cavill and Viscuso made their romance public back in 2021 when the actor shared a photo of themselves playing chess on Instagram.

"This is me looking quietly confident shortly before my beautiful and brilliant love Natalie, destroys me at chess," he captioned the picture, which showed him looking at his sweetheart with pure love in his eyes.

While some critics began to hound his dating life, the Man of Steel star defended Viscuso and stressed that he is "very happy in love, and in life."

"I'd be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can't bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself," he continued.

Viscuso is known for being featured on the first season of MTV's My Super Sweet 16 in 2005. She is also the vice president at Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based production company behind Prime Video's Them: Covenant.

Cavill is meanwhile known for his portrayal of Superman in various DC films. However, in December 2022, he announced that he would no longer be returning to play the iconic superhero following a meeting with director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran, who took the reins of DC Studios in October.
