BLACKPINK tops girl group brand reputation rankings, hits new milestone with ‘Kill This Love’
Breaking records? It sounds like a BLACKPINK thing to do.
BLACKPINK has proven their impact in the K-pop industry once again as their powerful track Kill This Love hits over 1.5 billion views, two years since its release.
Kill This Love is BLACKPINK’s second music video to cross the 1.5-billion mark after DDU-DU DDU-DU. In May 2021, it set a record for being the fastest K-pop group MV to hit 1.3 billion views.
BLACKPINK also rose to second place in January 2022’s brand reputation rankings conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute. The girl group’s brand reputation index increased by 186.50% since December 2021.
On the other hand, Korean trot singer Lim Youngwoong topped this month’s list while K-pop superstars BTS came in at a close third.
In a Soompi report, the brand reputation ranking is based on data collected by the Korean Business Research Institute from Dec. 22, 2021, to Jan. 22. The company examines the singer’s media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community awareness indices.
BLACKPINK is a four-member girl group formed by YG Entertainment in August 2016. Composed of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, their popular tracks include Kill This Love, DDU-DU DDU-DU, How You Like That, and As If It’s Your Last.
