Is Angelina Jolie ready to leave Hollywood for good?

In a WSJ Magazine interview published on Dec. 5, the actress revealed her plans to leave the limelight but noted that she can’t do it just yet because of her divorce from Brad Pitt and the legal conflicts that they are currently facing.

“It’s part of what happened after my divorce, I lost the ability to live and travel as freely,” she explained. “I will move when I can.”

Jolie, whose parents (actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand) were also part of the entertainment scene, said she never saw celebrity culture as “significant or important” and was never “impressed” by it.

While she has made a mark for herself as an international actress, Jolie said that she might have gone for a different career if she became fully aware of the challenges that come with being in show business. “When I was starting out, it wasn't as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much,” she said.

The Hollywood star said she’s looking to keep things lowkey in her Cambodia residence with her children in the near future. "They are the closest people to me and my life, and they're my close friends," she said. "We're seven very different people, which is our strength."

Jolie has been dealing with legal issues with Pitt for seven years now, mostly involving claims for child custody and real estate.

She and Pitt became a couple after meeting on the set of 2004 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, where they starred as married assassins.

In September 2016, Pitt was accused of striking one of his kids during a flight from France to Los Angeles, but was later cleared by authorities. Jolie filed for divorce a few days after the incident.

The ex-lovers share six children: Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara, 18; Shiloh, 17; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.
