'Something beautiful, something iconic': Mattel releases Miley Cyrus Barbie doll
Miley Cyrus now has her own Barbie doll!
On Tuesday, June 30, Mattel announced that its latest Barbie Signature doll features none other than the Grammy-winning pop star.
"Our latest Barbie doll is a tribute to this award winner and style icon, known for her genre-blending songs and soulful lyrics," Mattel Creations said on its website.
Designed by Javi Meabe, the collectible doll shows the singer in a sleek biker-inspired outfit, complete with a bralette, narrow-leg pants, a belted oversized hooded jacket, sunglasses, and even a tiny microphone. It was inspired by her look in her Golden Burning Sun music video under her Something Beautiful album.
Mattel gave a closer look at the new item on Barbie's Instagram page, describing it as "something beautiful, something iconic."
In a Billboard interview, Cyrus appreciated the attention to detail that went into the doll's design.
"All the details were so thoughtful and so important. Every little piece of this design was a dream—down to the shape of the shoe, the look, the leather jacket, the bell, the hair dimension, the sunglasses. Everything feels purposeful," she said.
According to the singer, she particularly loved the inclusion of the microphone that represented her artistic legacy: "That was very important to me that music stays the priority for me and for my purpose. And so having this microphone is so representative of not just the music, but using your voice."
The Barbie Signature Miley Cyrus Barbie Doll is available on Mattel's website for $60.
