Canadian rapper Tory Lanez (real name: Daystar Peterson), who has been accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020, was taken into custody after a judge ruled that he violated protective orders in his case as he talked about the latter online.

The move was caused by Tory’s tweet in February, where he wrote and addressed Megan as “u”: "Good d*** had me f***ing 2 best friends ... and I got caught ... that's what I apologized for ... it's sick how u Spun it tho ..."

According to TMZ, Tory “was remanded into custody of the Sheriff’s Department, and the judge set his bail at #350K” in a hearing that took place on Wednesday, April 6 (Philippine time). “Prosecutors had requested he be held without bail, or at least set it at $5 million.”

TMZ added they’ve been “told he’s in the process of posting the $350K.”

AFP previously reported that Tory allegedly told Megan to “Dance, bitch” before he shot her foot two years ago amid an argument in a party hosted by Hollywood personality Kylie Jenner. The Hot Girl Summer singer said she was “bleeding profusely” and ended up crawling to the sidewalk.

Megan said Tory “emphatically apologized for what he did” and offered her a ride home. She also accused the rapper of offering her some money to remain tight-lipped about what happened.

Tory, however, firmly denied the accusations. “I have all faith in God to show that… love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart… a charge is not a conviction,” he tweeted in 2021.

Tory was charged with one count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. AFP said that he “faces more than 22 years in jail if convicted.”
