Seungri announces marriage and expecting first child with partner
Former BIGBANG member Seungri has confirmed that he is married and expecting his first child with a non-celebrity partner.
In an exclusive statement to Ilgan Sports, Seungri shared that his wife is expected to give birth early next year, while clarifying that they were legally married before the pregnancy.
"My wife and I are legally married, and claims that we had a shotgun wedding due to the pregnancy are simply untrue," he stated.
Seungri added that they are not planning a wedding ceremony anytime soon, opting instead to focus entirely on preparing for their baby's arrival.
The confirmation follows a local media report alleging that the 35-year-old former K-pop idol has been living in Gangnam with his partner—reported to be in her 20s—as they await their child's birth, with plans for a wedding ceremony following the delivery.
Seungri debuted as a member of BIGBANG in 2006 and made his official solo debut in 2011.

In 2019, he became a key figure in the Burning Sun scandal that shocked Korea. The scandal involved prominent entertainment figures engaging in rape, prostitution, molka, tax evasion, and corruption within a Korean nightclub.
He was convicted of arranging prostitution services for business investors and embezzlement of funds in 2021, and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. He left BIGBANG following this.
Most recently, an aggravated assault complaint was filed against Seungri on Aug. 26. An altercation broke out at a Gangnam restaurant between Seungri and the complainant, who claimed the former idol swung a soju bottle towards him and hurled out threats.
The former idol denied the assault claims, stating that the complainant had been intoxicated and swung the bottle to ward him off rather than threaten him.
Seungri had also stated considering filing a countercomplaint.
