On Facebook, she also said, "Olympian (arrow emoji) accountant. Para sayo to ma [and] pa!"

According to her post, Sam completed her bachelor of science in accounting with a minor in legal environment of business.

The 22-year-old ended her Paris Olympics campaign after she was defeated by Italian fencer Arianna Errigo in Table of 32 in the women's individual foil competition.

After her match, Sam told One Sports that she was already looking forward to competing in the next Olympics.

“I’m very blessed po to give my best po all throughout the competition but unfortunately po, talagang kinapos e,” she said.

“But, I know for a fact that coming here, I wasn’t as ready po as my other opponents kasi nga po kagagaling ko lang po ng injury and nag-start lang ako ng fencing by February. But I was really happy with the way I fenced today, hopefully po, sa mga susunod na tournaments po, I’m able to perform better."

Sam also re-tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and decided to take time off the sport.

"This journey is far from over, but we've come a long way. Patuloy na lalaban para sa pangarap," she said in another Instagram post.
