Joy Barcoma has stepped away from Dogshow Divas, the podcast she frequently co-hosts with comedians Baus Rufo and Macoy Dubs.

"Today, I've decided to step away from Dogshow Divas," Barcoma wrote on Facebook late Monday, Aug. 31, adding she had read comments about her being a recurring guest host on the podcast.

"I've always been grateful whenever I'm invited to join podcasts when my schedule allows, but how often I appear isn't something I personally control," she continued. "Grateful ako to everyone who supported us, but for now, I'm choosing to protect my peace."

In their podcast, Rufo and Macoy Dubs often invite guests to discuss a wide range of topics sprinkled with their signature humor. Their chemistry with Barcoma was noticeable, prompting them to invite her to pinch-hit for Dubs when the latter is unable to perform his hosting duties due to a busy schedule.

Apparently, some followers have had a strong reaction to seeing and hearing Barcoma often on the show, preferring the original hosts.

"No hate. Pero iba talaga ang Dogshow 'pag 'yung OG ang main host. Minahal natin ang DDS dahil kay Baus at Macoy, from concept of title kasama tayo sa mga unang nanood at bumoto. Please stay sa concept kung pa'no namin kayo minahal," a Facebook user wrote.

Her supporters have been quick to defend her, with Rufo among them.

"Thanks for bringing such light and joy to the pod. Always the class act and the dazzling jusa that you are," he wrote in a comment on Barcoma's post.

Another follower reassured Barcoma of her talent.

"You brought so much light and energy to the Dogshow Divas podcast," wrote a follower. "Since I lost my job a few months ago, listening to you, Tuesday, and Baus genuinely helped me get through some difficult days and kept me from sinking too deeply into sadness."

On its official page, Dogshow Divas also released a statement of support for Barcoma.

"Maraming salamat, Jusa! Super grateful ang buong Dogshow Divas family for all the time, energy, tawanan, at kalokohan you've shared with us!" they wrote.

The podcast also addressed the negativity surrounding Barcoma's co-hosting stint.

"We will never condone or tolerate hate in any form. Your peace and well-being should always be protected. Thank you for being such a special part of this beautiful journey," Dogshow Divas added.

Dogshow Divas has developed a strong following since its launch in Septembeer 2025. The podcast's YouTube channel has over 178,000 subscribers; on Facebook and Instagram, they have a combined 354,000 followers.
