Julia Barretto speaks up on rumored secret wedding with Gerald Anderson
Julia has set the record straight: the wedding bells aren't ringing for her and Gerald Anderson just yet.
In a recent interview at the Preview Ball last Sept. 8, Julia candidly addressed the rumors of a secret wedding with her boyfriend by firmly denying these speculations.
"No, walang ganoon. Walang 'secret-secret.' Wala nang secret sa [mabilis] na mundo," the actress said.
“We're just really happy in life," she continued. "I mean, it’s something to look forward to, pero bakit niyo ba kami minamadali?” she joked.
“I feel like when that moment comes... It's something to be shared when the two people are ready to do such a thing."
Julia and Gerald have been in a relationship for three years now, and the couple has also been open about the idea of marriage ever since. But the 26-year-old star is firm about not rushing into things.
"I don't think that it's a question that should be asked constantly. When the time comes, it comes," Julia said.
"I don't know why everybody is rushing us. I'm really happy where we are right now... You'll just find out one day," she added.
Gerald himself expressed his readiness to settle down with Julia during a March interview with Korina Sanchez, saying that she would be the one he would eventually marry.
“Alam mo yung kasabihan na ‘You just know.’ Ang hirap mag-explain, e, iba yung feel. Iba yung feel,” the actor said.
“You feel na nag-iiba or mas nag-iiba yung priorities mo or mas naging malinaw sa’yo yung priorities mo,” he added.
