Cleanfuel dismisses claims its owner gave brand ambassador Dominic Roque a gasoline station

By NICK GARCIA Published Feb 21, 2024 11:09 am

Cleanfuel denied claims that its brand ambassador Dominic Roque was given a gasoline station by its owner, Congressman Bong Suntay.

In a statement on Feb. 20, the gas company said it “strongly condemns” the false accusations and misleading reports involving Roque.

“Being a company-owned entity, Cleanfuel does not provide nor extend franchise to anyone as claimed by some,” it said.

The company also noted how Roque has “worked and represented the brand professionally for the past six years.”

“His contribution has been vital to reflect the company’s image and brand success,” it added.

In his individual capacity, Suntay also dismissed the claims, stressing Roque’s status as a brand ambassador.

“Kung talagang magreresearch lang, makikita nila as early as five years ago, talagang brand ambassador na si Dominic. Ang nakakagulat nga ‘yung pinost pa nilang picture ‘yung contract signing namin ni Dom,” he said.

“Pero, wala naman ding katotohanan na binigyan siya ng gasolinahan,” he stressed.

Suntay said he was "taking it lightly" at first. “In fact, sabi ko nga sa kaibigan ko, ‘Uy, okay ‘to ah. Nakakakuha ng libreng advertisement ang Cleanfuel tsaka dumami ‘yung followers ko.”

The statements come on the heels of Roque’s camp debunking showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin’s bold claims.

In her vlog Showbiz Now Na, Fermin said Roque's ex-fiancée Bea Alonzo's family was investigating his finances, as he lives in a high-end condominium. Fermin claimed the condo was owned by a male politician.

In guessing the politician’s identity, some names that came up were Suntay and Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos.

Jalosjos, though confirming he owned the condo, denied being a "benefactor" of Roque. He said he turned it into a rental space for his friend Roque.

"Natawa na nga lang ako bakit tumalon ‘yung issue sa business na binahay na," he said.

Boy Abunda announced earlier in February that Roque and Alonzo had broken up after public speculation about their split had spread online. The couple later confirmed the end of their relationship in a joint Instagram post.
