Gwyneth Paltrow plans to retire from Hollywood after selling Goop
Gwyneth Paltrow is looking at saying goodbye to Hollywood sooner or later.
The 51-year-old actress revealed that she will retire once she sells her wellness and lifestyle company, Goop, in an interview for Bustle's October 2023 cover story.
"I will literally disappear from public life," Gwyneth told the outlet. "No one will ever see me again."
The Avengers actress said that she doesn't appreciate being a celebrity, but she does enjoy "creating, collaborating, being struck with new ideas, innovating, thinking ahead, strategy, vision, that kind of thing."
However, the Oscar winner has "no idea" who may buy her company. She shared that she still needs a few more years,
"We're not ready to sell yet. I need a few more years," she said, noting that she'd be "happy" to make the big exit for her 55th birthday in 2027.
She also made it clear that money is not what drives her even though Goop was valued at $250 million (P1.4 billion) in 2018, a source close to the firm told The New York Times back then, according to E! News.
“I don't make choices to build value in the wrong way. I've always done independent films. I don't know. Money has never been my thing. It's never been my driver,” she said.
Meanwhile, reports say that she is focused on her children at the moment.
Gwyneth shares two kids, Apple and Moses, with her ex Chris Martin. She has a stepson from her marriage with Brad Falchuk.
