Cristina Bawagan was a political activist who was arrested and tortured in May 1981 during the martial law regime. Now a social science teacher, she is currently a member of the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation where she volunteers her time to gather oral interviews and artifacts on martial law for the Freedom Museum soon to be put up in the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
