ERNEST JOHN OBIENA, The Philippine STAR

EJ Obiena was born and raised in Tondo, Manila, and attended both Ateneo and UST. He is the national record holder in both indoor and outdoor Pole Vault, and the reigning SEA Games gold medalist and record holder. He has won multiple prestigious international competitions, including the World Universiade Games and Asian Championships. He is the first Filipino athlete to qualify for the Tokyo 2020/1 Olympics and is currently considered a medal candidate after defeating the reigning Olympic and World Champion vaulters in the European Circuit.
