#FangirlGigs: Spook-tacular acts by CL, Epik High, PENTAGON, BGYO, and more during HALLYUWEEN 2022

No bad weather could stop South Korean artists CL, Epik High, Pentagon, Gaho and Kave, and DJ Soda from performing heart-pumping, fist-pounding acts at the Philippines' first-ever K-pop Halloween party.

Titled HALLYUWEEN 2022, the large and festive bash gathered six of today's hottest K-pop stars together with P-pop sensation BGYO and the country's drag queens.

From fans' impressive costumes to the artists' explosive stages, take a look at some of the spook-tacular moments that happened at the HALLYUWEEN held on Oct. 29 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

Pinoy drag queens kick off the party

The Mall of Asia Arena was filled with energy and excitement from the get-go, as Filipino drag queens Lady Gagita, Lady Morgana, and Minty Fresh graced the stage as the event's front act. With their impressive and witty impersonation of artists like Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, and Ariana Grande, the crowd just couldn't help but scream for more.

Gaho & KAVE rocks the stage

Definitely one of the crowd's favorites during the concert, Gaho & Kave's upbeat and groovy performance set the event ablaze! From singing Itaewon Class’ OST "Start Over" to Start Up’s "Running," Gaho & KAVE took fans back to the scenes of their favorite K-dramas with their performances. 

Pentagon's synchronized performances

It’s been such a long time since FILO UNIVERSE (Pentagon’s fandom) have seen the boy group perform on stage and surely, this year's event is a tick off their bucket list. The multi-national boy group showcased their vocals while belting out Beautiful Goodbye and groovin’ to the song Feelin' Like.

BGYO showcases the caliber of P-pop

BGYO was the event's fourth act and they sure brought a whole lot of Pinoy pride. Prior to the performance, the P-pop boy group told the press that they are "very thankful" and "honored" to be invited to the party alongside K-pop artists and local drag queens. “Sobrang dream come true tsaka milestone din for us,” BGYO's Gelo said.

During the event proper, BGYO made the hearts of ACEs flutter, as seen in how members of the fandom screamed their lungs out when they  entered the stage. The five-member ensemble gave their best in performing their hit songs, including The Light, Kundiman, and Magnet.

KARD's tantalizing performance

During the event's media briefing, the co-ed group KARD was asked what fans should look forward to in their performance, BM said that they should expect some “sexy performance” while dressed up as pirates, skeleton, and catwoman. And they did just what they promised.

KARD, which consists of BM, Somin, Jiwoo and J.seph, has proven why they are one of the hottest K-pop groups today with their seductive dance moves that goes along with powerful vocals and rap skills.

Epik High's explosive act

Epik High is one of the OGs of K-pop, and they proved just that during HALLYUWEEN 2022. The moment the trio entered the stage, the whole crowd went wild. Everyone jumped as the group displayed their amazing rap skills, and it's a sight to see them personally interact with fans and throw water on the arena's VIP station. 

When asked what fans could expect from their performance prior the concert, Tablo said that he wanted the fans to “enjoy” themselves. 

“The thing about Halloween is that it is also a fun day,” he said. “We know we can’t solve any problem, but for the time that we share together if we can make you forget about things and then enjoy yourself. Maybe when you go back you’ll be a lot stronger.” 

CL “reconnects” with fans

She ain’t called the “Baddest Female” for nothing. It is a feast for BLACKJACKs AND GZBs to see CL perform on stage after a long time From her hot performance of Spicy to singing Doctor Pepper, the former 2NE1 member proved that she is really the star of the night There is no doubt that fans agreed. As soon as her songs began playing, the whole crowd were hyped up in an instant. 

During the press conference held prior to the event, CL told PhilSTAR L!fe and other members of the press that she is very excited to “reconnect” with her fans and to “be on stage. She also noted that she wants to "show them [her] new music" and "new performance."

DJ Soda

Wearing her Spider-Woman-inspired costume DJ Soda heated up the stage while performing songs such as Dance Monkey, BLACKPINK's Pink Venom, and more. After all, what’s a concert without all-out partying?
