The Filipina singer will share the same title as Brazilian singer-songwriter Luísa Sonza and Italian artist Annalisa.
This comes a day after Billboard Philippines teased that a Pinoy talent will be recognized at the upcoming awards show for her "influence on Filipino music" and "impact on the global market."
"More than just being a household name, she has showed consistency and excellence in her craft, and continues to be relevant to her listeners, wherever they are in the world," it said.
Other artists that will be recognized at the ceremony include Grammy awardee Kylie Minogue, K-pop group NewJeans, and American singer Victoria Monét.
Karol G will be named Woman of the Year, the biggest award of the night.
Hosted by American actress Tracee Ellis Ross, the event will take place on March 6 and will be streamed on Billboard's official website on March 7.
