K-pop stars to host 2023 Asia Artists Awards in PH

Three K-pop stars will prove that they cannot only sing and dance, but they can host as well as serve as emcees in the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) 2023.

The highly anticipated award show, which will be held for the first time in the Philippines on Dec. 14, recognizes and celebrates Asian excellence in film, music, television, and digital content.

Korean media outlet StarNews reported that IVE's Jang Won-young, soloist Kang Daniel, and ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han-Bin will be the hosts of the award show this year.

This is not Won-young’s first time hosting the event as she previously served as one of the emcees for AAA 2022 in Japan.

Meanwhile, her fellow idols also share a wealth of hosting experience. Daniel is known for his role in the popular reality competition Street Woman Fighter and its spin-off StreetDance GirlsFighter, and Hang-bin was recently announced as one of the new presenters on the music show M Countdown.

Earlier this month, StarNews revealed the first lineup of artists who will be gracing the event: NewJeans, Le Sserafim, BoyNextDoor, NMIXX and Zerobaseone.

The awards ceremony is being organized by Star News, the AAA Organizing Committee, TONZ Entertainment, and local concert promoter PULP Live World.

Last August 14, PUP Live World chiefs met with AAA’s top execs to seal the deal and set the stage for AAA 2023.

“It acts as a venue for fostering collaboration and cultural dialogue among artists from different Asian nations. By facilitating these interactions, the AAA plays a vital role in shaping the future of entertainment in the region,” PULP said in a statement. “It also promotes cross-cultural understanding, and champions the global proliferation of Asian pop culture.”
