Eunice Somintac replaces Elha Nympha in 'Inday The Musical'

Inday The Musical is moving forward.

Studio A Productions announced on Friday that Eunice Somtac will replace Elha Nympha as Inday. Nympha backed out a day before the opening due to "material breaches of contract."

"You've seen her on screen, in films and TV commercials. Then she traded the camera for the stage, debuting in the straight play Bisita before taking on her first musical as Haliya in MAKARA: The Musical," Studio A Productions wrote.

"A singer. An actress. A storyteller who keeps coming back for more. This time, she returns to Studio A with a brand-new role," it continued.

The production company on Thursay announced that Nympha has decided to withdraw from the musical, saying that they are "making the necessary adjustments" as they are "fully committed to opening the show on the scheduled dates."

Elha's camp later issued a statement saying "circumstances" made it impossible for her to continue with the production.

Inday The Musical explores the darker side of love and family relationships. It stars Katrina Velarde, Cherry Morena, Eunice Somintac, Basty Batistis, Chris Fong, Jude Gamaliel, Nicollo Gutierrez, Jeremy Manite, Aina Salazar, Primitivo Moscare, and Cary Faith Rodolfo.

The musical features a book and lyrics by Danna Bernardino, songs by The Boyfriends, arrangements by Jason Tung, choreography by GForce’s Georcelle Dapat-Sy, and costume designs by Anthony Ramirez.

It is set for a limited run from Oct. 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City. Tickets are available via this link.
