Long-running reality show Survivor is getting a comedy animated movie adaptation.

If you loved the thrill and the drama of the OG competition reality show, you can soon enjoy it in its animated version, this time with animals as the contestants.

According to reports by Deadline and Variety, the movie adaptation is officially in the works at Paramount Animation. Its longtime host and executive producer, Jeff Probst, also announced the development via an Instagram reel.

“Setting it in the world of animals give us a whole new playground,” Probst said in his video. “It’s still everything we love about ‘Survivor’—big personalities, funny characters, surprising alliances, competition, chaos—and of course a lot of heart—but this time, the players aren’t human," he said in the video.

"This will be an all-out comedy with animals competing for the chance to be crowned the sole Survivor. Let’s go!!!!" he captioned his post.

The official synopsis described the upcoming movie as, “Set on a remote and mystical island, animals from all around the globe compete for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be crowned the sole Survivor.”

Probst is involved in the project as an executive producer, while Banijay, Amazon MGM, and CBS are involved as rights holders.

Since its debut in 2000, Survivor has become one of television’s longest-running reality competition series, with five-time Emmy Award winner Probst serving as host throughout its entire run.

The series recently concluded its milestone 50th season. The finale drew 5.78 million live and same-day viewers, making it the franchise’s most-watched finale in six years. New Hampshire native Aubry Bracco was crowned the season’s Sole Survivor and took home the $2 million grand prize.

Meanwhile, new seasons of Survivor are currently filming in Fiji and are scheduled to air this fall.
