Brooklyn Beckham doesn’t want his wedding dance with mother Victoria be seen publicly.

After Brooklyn shared on social media that his mom "danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone," which made him "uncomfortable," a source told PEOPLE that the memory, caught on camera, was one of the most humiliating moments in Brooklyn’s life.

“It’s an extremely embarrassing moment for them and it would not be good for Brooklyn’s mental health to see this circulating online,” the insider said, adding that only Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham have access to the video.

The magazine reported in May 2025 that Nicola was “in tears” after Victoria “ruined” the first wedding dance to the tune of a specific song planned by the couple.

"Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding," a source told the magazine.

"Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up ... Victoria Beckham!'”

The insider added that guests were shocked to see Victoria slow dancing with his son, to which Nicola allegedly felt offended.

"It wasn't appropriate," the source said, adding that everyone saw "Nicola run from the room crying" thereafter.

"Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she couldn't understand was why.

On January 20, Brooklyn detailed his fallout with his family in a series of Instagram stories, narrating how his parents, former football star David and former Spice Girl Victoria, allegedly controlled him for most of his life, and categorically stating reconciliation was not in the pipeline.

"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled. I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life," he said.

He went on to claim that his family "values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first."

David has reacted to his son's statement, saying, "They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn. So that's what I've tried to teach my kids. But you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes, as well."

The eldest Beckham son and his wife of four years have had a strained relationship with the rest of the Beckham family since before the couple's wedding in April 2022.

Aside from a "hijacking" of the couple's first dance, Brooklyn claimed his parents pressured him to sign over the rights to his name before the wedding and that his mother not only backed out of making Peltz's wedding dress at the last minute. The rest of his family was also reportedly unwelcoming toward his bride.
