Filipina tourist falls from viewing spot while taking pictures during Croatia trip

A Filipina tourist was seriously injured after falling from a viewing spot in Croatia while taking photos during her trip.

According to a report by GMA's 24 Oras, the incident happened at a tourist site in Dubrovnik. A fellow Pinoy who witnessed the incident said strong winds were present at the time.

The woman suffered injuries to her head and arm, as well as a serious leg injury that required surgery. She is now in stable condition but remains under close medical observation, per the report.

Croatian authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident. 

The tourist's identity has not been publicly disclosed, though authorities said she's around 30 years old.

This serves as a reminder to stay cautious when taking photos or selfies in scenic but potentially dangerous spots while traveling. In early 2025, a Hong Kong tourist tragically lost her life when she was hit by a train while attempting to take photographs on the railway tracks. In the same year, there was also a Korean travel influencer who died after falling at a Mongolian volcano while taking photos.
