A camera that fits in your palm? Meet Fujifilm's new Instax Pal 2
Good things really do come in small packages, and Fujifilm's latest camera is proof.
The brand has launched a new model of its "Instax Pal," a lineup of tiny, palm-sized digital cameras designed to capture spontaneous moments without printing photos directly.
Dubbed the Instax Pal 2, the camera introduces an updated design and enhanced functionality.
Its most notable feature is the top-mounted monitor that lets you check captured images immediately after shooting. Aside from this, there's also a newly equipped viewfinder, control dial, and lever that provide a richer photographic experience unique to a camera.
The Instax Pal 2 improves upon its predecessor in that it has better image quality to render a richer reproduction of subjects.
In using the camera, you must turn the lever to select your preferred shooting format from four options: no frame, mini, square, and wide.
If you want to add some flair to your pictures, you can turn the dial to select an effect. When paired with the dedicated app, you can choose from a total of 30 effects and load them onto the camera.
The camera also allows up to 10 consecutive shots. Simply press and hold the shutter button for the photos to be taken in burst mode, and result in a flipbook-style animation.
You can choose between 10 megapixels and 1 megapixel for your pictures.
To transfer your photos to your phone, you must download the Instax Pal app and pair the camera via Bluetooth. While wireless transfer is available, you can also opt to connect your camera to the smartphone's USB Type-C port for fast photo transfer—about 0.7 seconds per image.
Apart from transferring, the app allows you to edit your photos and share them with friends or post them on social media.
If you want to have a physical copy of your pictures, you can print them using the instax Link series of smartphone printers or hybrid instant cameras, which are sold separately.
The instax Pal 2 comes in black and white color options. Details on its release date in the Philippines have yet to be revealed.
Per the Fujifilm Global website, the suggested retail price for the Pal 2 is $169.95 (about P10,685).
