Flying soon? Cebu Pacific has a new Travel Fund rule

Take note, fellow Cebu Pacific travelers!

You know how Travel Fund acts as your go-to virtual wallet for booking flights, adding extra baggage, or ordering meals using your stored credit? There’s a new rule rolling out soon.

Starting Nov. 10, you can no longer use your Travel Fund to buy flights for other people unless you’re flying with them. You can still book for your friends and family, but your name has to be included on the same booking. Previously, you could sponsor anyone’s trip using your funds even if you weren't traveling.

Already booked a flight before Nov. 10? It will not be affected by this change. Just keep in mind that adding extras like baggage or seat selection on previously booked flights without the Travel Fund owner may be restricted.

If the Travel Fund is linked by booking reference, the owner must be one of the original passengers.

To determine the Travel Fund owner, log into your MyCebuPacific account to check—the owner is whoever's name is on the account.

Cebu Pacific noted that your existing Travel Fund will remain valid and will not expire.

Owners can check their remaining Travel Fund balance by logging in to their MyCebuPacific account. Passengers who don’t have an account yet may sign up to link future bookings to their account.

Cebu Pacific said that the change in the policy comes down to security and account management.

The airline noted that they’re constantly reviewing their services to "strengthen how Travel Fund ownership and use are managed."
