Alden Richards opened up about his journey in finding love in the premiere episode of Gandang Gabi Vice.

In his interview with Vice Ganda, Alden revealed that he's only had two proper girlfriends.

"High school pa ['yun]. Hindi artista. Lahat ng nangyari sa akin dito [sa showbiz], walang label," the actor said.

However, he admitted that he had developed feelings for other celebrities five times.

When asked why the relationships never panned out, Alden said, "Hindi ko rin alam eh. Ako ba ang problema?"

He explained that, in some cases, either he or the other person would pull away before the relationship could develop further.

"'Yung una ko, I walked away without a word. I ghosted, which is not good. ['Yung iba naman,] sinabi ko na, kasi natututo naman tayo in every circumstance that happens in our lives," he said.

In his last romantic experience, Alden said that both of them wanted to end things, although the other person was more inclined to call it quits.

"Ang one thing na natutunan ko sa whatever happened with that relationship is never say never. Huwag mong bigyan ng ultimatum 'yung sarili mo dahil sobrang saya mo sa sitwasyon. Kinain ko 'yung mga sinabi ko nun," he said.

The Hello, Love, Goodbye star confessed that he couldn't help but be affected by the pressures of finding love.

"Feeling ko 'yung love life sa akin, medyo mailap siya for the past 15 years na. Kasi sinusubukan kong hanapin eh. Minsan nakakaroon ng effect sa akin 'yung 34 ka na, wala ka pa rin pamilya. Ganun tayong mga Pinoy. We live in a culture of deadlines, but I don't think that's how I want to live my life right now," he said.

"So, after nung last, sabi ko, 'Hindi ko na hahanapin.' Mabubuhay ako ngayon sa kung ano 'yung tingin kong bigay ng Diyos para sa akin. May it be a circumstance, may it be a person," he added.

He emphasized that this isn't to say that he is no longer open to being in love.

"For the longest time, hinahanap ko 'yung taong para sa akin. So, baka, for a change, hintayin ko naman siyang dumating," Alden said. "Somewhere out there, I know—sa seven billion people in the world, impossible 'yung walang isa doon para sa akin."

Alden couldn't help but break down into tears as he highlighted the importance of loving yourself first.

"For the longest time, naghahanap ako ng pagmamahal from another person, nang na-realize ko, pagmamahal pala sa sarili 'yung kulang," he said.

He then reached out to Vice before they both stood up to share a comforting embrace.

After the interview, Vice revealed on his X account that Alden's breakdown "took almost 10 minutes."

"Parang ayaw ko nang ituloy yung interview kasi awang-awa ako sa kanya. Grabe 'yung iyak nya. But he insisted to still continue. Haaaayyy!!! Love you Alden!" he wrote.

Alden previously said that he is hoping to find his soulmate by age 35, sharing that settling down and starting a family is still one of his wishes.

Some of the celebrities who have been linked to the Kapuso heartthrob in the past include Sam Pinto, Kathryn Bernardo, Julie Anne San Jose, Maine Mendoza, Winwyn Marquez, and Louise delos Reyes.
